Enchanted Winter Snow Melt Cookies

🍪 Instructions

  1. Cream the butter & sugar
    In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light, pale, and dreamy — about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Add vanilla
    Stir in the vanilla extract; this is the aroma that makes your kitchen smell enchanted.
  3. Fold in the dry ingredients
    Add the flour and salt. Mix gently until the dough forms soft, winter-white clumps.
  4. Add nuts (optional)
    Fold in pecans or walnuts for the traditional snowy-crunch texture.
  5. Chill the dough
    Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Chilling helps the  cookies hold their snowy shape.
  6. Form the snowballs
    Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll them into small round “moons.”
  7. Bake
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Bake cookies for 10–12 minutes, or until the bottoms just barely turn golden.
  8. Roll in snow
    While still warm, gently roll each cookie in powdered sugar.
    Let them cool fully, then roll them again for a thick magical coat.
