🍪 Instructions
- Cream the butter & sugar
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light, pale, and dreamy — about 2–3 minutes. - Add vanilla
Stir in the vanilla extract; this is the aroma that makes your kitchen smell enchanted. - Fold in the dry ingredients
Add the flour and salt. Mix gently until the dough forms soft, winter-white clumps. - Add nuts (optional)
Fold in pecans or walnuts for the traditional snowy-crunch texture. - Chill the dough
Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Chilling helps the cookies hold their snowy shape. - Form the snowballs
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll them into small round “moons.” - Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake cookies for 10–12 minutes, or until the bottoms just barely turn golden. - Roll in snow
While still warm, gently roll each cookie in powdered sugar.
Let them cool fully, then roll them again for a thick magical coat.
