Ingredients:
- 6 cubed steaks (can substitute with other cuts if desired)
- 1 onion, sliced into rings
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1/2 can of water
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Layer the cubed steaks: Place the cubed steaks at the bottom of the slow cooker. These steaks will soak up all the flavors of the soup and seasoning as they cook, turning tender and juicy over the long cooking time.
- Layer the onions: Spread the onion rings evenly over the top of the cubed steaks. The onions will soften and caramelize, adding a rich sweetness and depth of flavor to the dish.
- Make the sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, water, and black pepper. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are fully mixed and smooth. This sauce will become the flavorful base for the steak, thickening up as it cooks.
- Pour the sauce over the steaks: Pour the soup mixture evenly over the cubed steaks and onions in the slow cooker. The sauce will gradually seep into the meat, making it tender and full of flavor.
- Cover and cook: Cover the slow cooker with its lid, making sure it is securely in place. Cook on low heat for 6–8 hours, or until the cubed steaks are fork-tender and the flavors have melded together beautifully. The low-and-slow cooking method ensures that the steak is perfectly tender and the sauce is thick and flavorful.
- Serve: Once the cubed steaks are tender, remove them from the slow cooker and serve with the rich, savory sauce from the crockpot. The sauce can be spooned over mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables for a hearty, satisfying meal.
